Healthy Salad Recipes
Looking for healthy salad recipes? You have come to the right place, but remember -- this is a community page. Pay it back by contributing your own, easy to make healthy salad meals. Salads have always been a choice for people on a diet. However, salads are a healthy option and, depending on what you put in them, they can be satisfying and a great choice if you want to age well, even if you aren't on a diet. Normally salads have a base of vegetables, although they can be made with a base of rice, beans or alternatives like quinoa. Vegetables give salads the fibre you need, along with vitamins - such as vitamin A or C and antioxidents. The most colorful combinations—dark green foliage with a splash of red, orange or yellow from tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage, raddishes or bell peppers—also deliver vitamin A (as beta carotene), lycopene and other key phytonutrients. A great salad deserves a great dressing, of course, so we encourage you to contribute your favorites. Salads can be hearty meals or side salads to accompany your main dish. Either way they are a delicious way to get the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients you need for a well-balanced diet if you want to age well.
